God and Football

I enjoy going to Super Bowl parties and watching the game, but seriously, what does the Super Bowl accomplish? Can it finish the war? Does it feed the poor? Do we become closer to God when we are cheering for our team because they’re winning? If you watch the Super Bowl to God’s glory, then by all means do it, but if it’s a cause for arguments or if it becomes more important than the Lord and your family, then put it in perspective and pray for wisdom and peace in the family. The Super Bowl is good…in proportion. so find a way to balance football with God.

During the Super Bowl hubbub, our church youth group took part in Souper Bowl, a national project, and collected cans of food for families who don’t have enought money for food. It was a good project and gave the kids another focus plus will have the Souper Bowl idea forever linked to Super Bowl.

Dear Aunt Anne,
I think that’s really cool about the Souper Bowl. Thanks for the comment.
